Progress

The work on our house has begun! It has been really fun to work together and be able to see some of the fruits of our labor. We have learned a lot in the last week and the employees at Lowe's now know us by name...one employee even offered to give us our own parking spot there! We end up there often because we can't really seem to get the correct part we need the first or sometimes even the second time. Take a look at some of our first repair projects:

New locks on the doors

Matt admiring his work on the lighting
Figuring out how in the heck to install a garage door opener (I'm pretty sure he's reading the French side right now...but it wouldn't really make a difference :)
Day 1 of garage door installation
Day 2 of garage door installation...we'll get it one of these days...
Sanding down the front door frame...look at Matt's determination!!
Repairing the potty

You might have noticed that Matt's the only one in the pictures and that's for good reason. He's pretty much the only one doing the work! Stay tuned for our continuing progress!

I think that would have been the deal breaker, for me, if the garage door opener wasn't already installed. Good work Matt!

Man you guys have all the fun! All I have is a vacuum full of carpet. Looks like your making some progress, and I'd gladly help if you weren't 2000 miles away. Have fun with the sprinkler system!

Wow! Part of my job involved basic maintenance instruction and although I don't remember much, I do remember walking away with a great appreciation for replacing something as simple as a door lock! Way to go Matt (and girl, I have a feeling you're doing a little more than just taking pictures) and Brittany!
